Black Inclusion Intervention Toolkit
Resource Type: Toolkit (For Education Settings)
Our Black Inclusion Intervention Toolkit is designed to help schools move beyond reflection and into meaningful action. Offering practical starting points, evidence-informed strategies, and structured interventions, this resource supports school leaders, teachers, and staff to identify opportunities for improvement and implement sustainable approaches to Black inclusion across their setting. Covering areas such as curriculum, representation, belonging, staff development, pupil voice, policies, and community engagement, the toolkit helps schools translate insights from audits, reviews, and discussions into clear, achievable actions. Rather than focusing on one-off initiatives, it encourages a long-term, whole-school approach to creating environments where Black pupils, staff, and families feel seen, valued, respected, and able to thrive.

Intervention toolkits are important because they help organisations move from identifying issues to taking meaningful action. While audits, surveys, and discussions can highlight strengths and areas for development, it is often difficult to know what practical steps to take next. Intervention toolkits provide structured guidance, actionable strategies, and clear starting points, helping schools implement change in a purposeful and consistent way. They support accountability, reduce uncertainty, and enable staff to translate reflection into measurable improvements. Ultimately, intervention toolkits help ensure that good intentions lead to meaningful outcomes, creating more inclusive environments where all members of the school community can feel seen, valued, and supported.
